How to identify a fraudulent website / social media pages
At Health Assured Ltd we appreciate the sensitivity of the information that you share with us, and as such we are committed to maintaining and respecting the privacy and confidentiality of our service users. We will treat all information as confidential, the exception to this is in high-risk areas where we may have a legitimate reason to disclose the information shared. For clarity, calls with our service may be recorded and live monitored for training and quality assurance purposes, whilst respecting the confidentiality of the call.

How we define Confidential Information
In order to provide service to you, there are certain pieces of information that we need to collect. This can include:
• Name • Address • Email Address • Contact Number(s) • Date of Birth • Gender
Depending on the type of support we provide to you, we may also collect other information regarding the nature of your enquiry. This can contain special category data such as information relating to your health, race, ethnic origin, religion, sexual orientation, or for your GP details where you are accessing structured support. How we ensure Confidentiality
In order to ensure that we are keeping your information confidential, all Health Assured staff;
•are subject to extensive pre-employment checks and sign a Confidentiality Agreement which sets out their obligations under data privacy laws. As part of our recruitment and vetting process for all our staff, we conduct a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) background check.
• are only granted access to confidential information where they need it in order to carry out their duties.
• are trained on Data Protection and Confidentiality best practice regularly.
Additionally, Health Assured Ltd employ extensive technical and organisational measures in order to protect confidential information from unauthorised access or dissemination.
Confidentiality Exceptions
Health Assured respect our client’s right to confidentiality and privacy but also recognise the need and reserve the right to breach confidentiality in exceptional circumstances where authorised by client consent, or that there is a legally and ethically recognised justification.
We will not break confidentiality unless:
• There is a risk of harm to yourself and/or others
• There is a safeguarding concern pertaining to a child or vulnerable adult
• The sharing of personal data is mandatory to protect the public.
In these instances, breaking confidentiality may involve the sharing of information with appropriate individuals, which may include your GP, or social and/or emergency services as the situation demands. We will try to obtain your consent to make a disclosure where appropriate.
