Love Parks Week – is this summer, 24 July – 2 August 2015!
The perfect time to visit your local green spaces and remember what it's like to breathe outside of a city-fuelled environment!
Right now over 30 million people in England make good use of their green spaces. A tenth of us visit daily and over half visiting every week!
Did you know that these visits can reduce illnesses too? A walk in the park every day reduces the likelihood of heart attacks, cancer and Alzheimer's disease.
It's also been shown that people making trips to their green spaces will report illnesses related to stress less often. And there are even more positive reasons!
It's just not just being in the countryside that makes us feel better - a slice of greenery in our towns and cities can make us feel equally as good. Nature has been proven to help boost our mental and psychological well-being! Sound like a breath of fresh air?
Then get involved! Although most events haven't been added yet, you can keep checking back to find out what's being organised near you. To see what's on offer so far, go to the Love Parks Week website (www.loveparks.org).
There are some great tasters of what you can expect near to you - from jazz nights to nature trails and street dance taster sessions!
Alternatively you can arrange an event yourself! Check out the official website for promotional items to help you promote your event to ensure that you get a great turnout!
