Staying safe in warmer times

COVID-19—commonly referred to as coronavirus—is, at time of writing, having a massive impact on businesses and people all around the world.
It’s a slightly unsettling and confusing time, and it can seem like the normal rules have been thrown out of the window. Social distancing, isolation and travel bans are in place. Only essential workers are allowed to attend their workplaces, people are being fined for congregating in groups, and the NHS is seeing the largest influx of patients in peaceful history.
People everywhere need reassurance, especially given that for most, this is a completely new and unique situation. People who have never worked remotely before have been sent home with equipment to help them log in and do their jobs from their homes. Hotels, restaurants and shops have closed. You’re allowed out for essentials, such as groceries, medication and caring for vulnerable relatives, and once per day for exercise. And all these things are changing constantly. It’s a fluid and evolving situation.
Health Assured—whose staff are themselves currently adapting to working away from their office—are on top of this situation, and are assembling guidance, advice and articles to help you and your people through this.
Every day, we’re reviewing the official guidance from the UK government, and posting bite-size information on our FAQ pages—for employers and employees. We’re writing posts about how to keep yourself afloat during this crisis—how to cope with isolation, look after your mental health, and plan ahead for your financial wellbeing. And we’re available 24/7, 365 with our counsellors on-hand to talk you through any anxieties you might be feeling, with compassionate advice and guidance available.
